First off, I'd recommend not chasing her as she is going to run away from thinking that she has done something bad. Instead, try and get her to come to you by getting closer to eye level of your Corgi by sort of crouching or sitting on the ground. Call her to come to you in a gentle voice with your palms faces up. Having your palms face up is key to getting her to come to you as she might consider having them face down a sign she is in trouble. If you are having trouble with getting your Corgi to come to you this way, possibly because she has not recognized the name you've given her, then try using some treats to get her to come to you for the first week or two of doing this.In time she'll begin to warm up to you and will like you.

Younger Corgis and the runt of the litter tend to be more shy towards people. Also avoid giving him a bunch of dog treats every day and use a weight management formula dog food. I would recommend when you visit the vet next time to ask about how much he should be eating everyday to get his weight back on track and about the odor. Hope all turns out well with Preston and that he gets well soon.

First off with being overweight, try cutting back on how many times you feed him every day. She is just protecting her food from anyone who would take it. I recommend feeding both dogs in separate rooms or in opposite sides of the room. When your Corgi isn't around food and she is growling at your collie, she's probably wanting all the attention that you are giving your dogs for herself. Some Corgis seem to be more jealous than others, ( I have one of these Corgis myself), and this can lead to them needing to be separated sometimes. While I do not have any perfect way to prevent this from happening because it is part of that Corgi's personality, I do recommend when it happens, send her to a room and leave her there for a few minutes to cool off before any fighting breaks out.

The part of about your Corgi growling when she has food isn’t uncommon. Most of the time, a Corgi is adopted in as little as a few days of being in a rescue place. Don't worry if you can't adopt Zoey, I'm sure she'll find a great home soon if she hasn't already.

Corgis are very popular among all dog lovers. Any suggestions?

our 5 yr old tri colored pembroke female can have aggressive tendencies towards our 14 yr old border collie mix male- sometimes occuring around food;sometimes not. she never really bites him but she will growl in his face until we separate them- he is old and tired but still very actve. she is otherwise sweet, affectionate, attentive, playful- I could go on. she gets some exercise but probably not enough; also ,she has shown no aggression towards anyone or anything else. All he does is sleep and eat.
He has very bad body odor.
Do Corgys tend to have body odor ? He is shaped like a blimp.
His name is Preston and he is a very gentle natured dog. He tries to be obedient.
What kind of food should we feed him. He loves dog bone bisquits and will eat them all up then start on his Benefil.
He sleeps on the foot of my bed. My bed is high so I must help him get up by lifting his hind quarters
and he grunts as tho helping me lift him.
We have grown to love Preston in the short while he has been here.
Preston has a tumor growing out of his left ear and because of that he walks with his head cocked to that side. Sometime he shakes his head very hard. Poor dear.
We are on Social Security and cannot afford surgury for him next month we must get his rabies shot and get his tonails clipped and that is all we can afford.Sincerely

I love dogs especially corgis, unfortunately my girlfriend is allergic to dogs so I'm not allowed to have them. I hope Koda gets the love he deserves.
