I wouldn’t be checking in every day for a new post, as most of them are about seven or so days a part from each other. The latest post of a comic when i last checked was at 12/15/07. But, there are still a lot of comics up already. Whenever you get a chance to look, you should check out, <a href="http://corgicomics.com/"title="corgicomics" target="_blank" onclick="javascript:urchinTracker ('/outbound/article/corgicomics.com');">http://corgicomics.com/

Owning a Corgi can be great for the family or just for a friend to have a round. But with this, there is responsibilities. And you should always think of your Corgi or Corgis as a part of the family. To help keep your Corgi in shape, try walking them four to five times a week depending on where you live. If you are living down town, close to work where they have almost no space to walking your Corgi around, you may try walking them around town on less busier streets at non rush hour times. But, if you are out of down town or have a yard, it is a good items to let your Corgi to go run around outside to get some exercise.

While thinking of your Corgi as a part of the family, you should always have your Corgi in most of your family time. ( I wouldn’t suggest having your Corgi join you for dinner if he or she likes to eat food, and tries to beg for it.) But like during Christmas, have a present or two for your Corgi.

Training your Corgi can also be a great time to bond with your Corgi. Instead of sending your Corgi off to some trainer that will cost you money (unless you want your Corgi to learn a trick but you have to no time to teach him or her) you should think about doing this. You could also try taking your Corgi to the park to teach them trick. Not only can you exercise, play, and teach your Corgi, but it will be also be good to get your Corgi the fresh air. These are just some of the things you can do to help your Corgi have a longer and happier life, and help you get closer with your Corgi.

Training your Corgi can sometimes become hard depending on three different things: Your surroundings, the way you train, and what you are training. If someone was training their Corgi not to chew on a chair, table, and so on, that person would have to try and block off the area or object so the Corgi couldn’t get to it. And if he was to find his Corgi chewing on that object, he would have to say “NO” in loud, and firm voice. Never let your Corgi chew something he shouldn’t, and then after thirty minutes or a hour go yell and get mad at your Corgi. Your Corgi will not know what he has done wrong. This also goes for training your Corgi not to pee on something or in one area. If you do come home, or find that your Corgi have chewed something, or went to the bathroom on something, do not hurt your Corgi. Hurting your corgi can lead to several problems.

Now if you are training your Corgi to do trick or go to the bathroom in one area, and so on, the most important thing you will need will be something to reward your Corgi. A dog bone or even petting your Corgi can be the reward. But always make sure to reward your Corgi for doing the right thing. While training your Corgi a trick, you should make sure to only have short ten to fifth teen minute training periods. And try to keep it down to two to three times a day max. When you are training a Corgi to go to the bathroom, you should try to take your Corgi out every hour, and after your corgi drinks a lot of water or eats.

The surroundings is a major part of training your Corgi. If you are training your Corgi next to something that keeps distracting your Corgi, you have almost no chance of your Corgi learning anything. But, if you train your Corgi in a quiet or non distracting area, you will have a much better chance of teaching your Corgi whatever it is your teaching him. Also, try not to get mad at your Corgi if he or she doesn’t get it the first time. After a while your Corgi will learn what he or she is being taught. This is a short little guide on how to help you train your Corgi. Good luck, and have fun training.

Some corgis may have some habits that are not the best to have. For this, you better try and stop right away. To try and eat stop this habit, here are some tips. Try and keep the area your corgi goes to free of droppings. If you are walking and your corgi notices some droppings in the conner of his or her and your corgi goes for it, may you have a tight grip on your leash and walk your corgi away from it. Clean up your corgi’s dropping the second he or she has gone to try and correct this. And if there is another way, there are some smells that are in a liquid and may keep your corgi away from a area. Try and find a good way to correct these habit, and it will pay off in the future.

Trying to train your puppy can be easy or hard depending on where you are training your corgi, and what your training your corgi on. But when you praise your corgi, you must make sure you are praising your corgi in a soft voice, and not in a loud, harsh voice. Now depending on where you train your corgi puppy matters too. If your trying to train your corgi to sit while your at a party, or to sit while your next to a busy road in rush hour traffic, chances are, your not going to teach your corgi much. And if your trying to train your corgi puppy to not go on the carpet or on the couch, you don’t watch your corgi go on the couch then yell at him or her ten minutes later for that. All that does is make your corgi thing your being mean and doesn’t know what he or she did wrong. But if you see your corgi going on the floor and not in the spot he or she should be going to the bathroom in, you raise your voice and tell your corgi no. When you put off training what your corgi needs to learn in about a week for a party or something like that, and you try to teach your corgi on that same day five hours before your event. Your corgi puppy will tend to get bored after the first thirty minutes you try to train during those hours. So when it comes to training your corgi for a long period of time, make sure to space it out and let your corgi puppy have breaks in between so your corgi doesn’t get bored. If your puppy doesn’t get it within the first several days, don’t give up, and keep trying to train your corgi that command. After a while, your corgi should be preforming it on command, and make sure to give some positive reinforcement to make sure your corgi knows he or she has done a good job.

Trying to decide what would be the best for your corgi is hard because of the change in diet over the years. Your corgi could be needing a lot of something, and less of something when he or she is a puppy only a couple months old, then as your corgi goes to being only one or two years old, your corgi’s diet may balance out. And when your corgi is about five and older, he or she may start to need more of what your puppy needed less of, and less of what your corgi needed more of long ago. But, when you try and pick out the best for your corgi, looking at all of the leading dog food brands on the television, they may not have everything they claim to have in the food. Maybe most of it, but they tend not to have all. But there are healthier diets, but may cost a lot more then most of the the leading dog brand foods in the bag. These may be made up of real pieces of vegetables and raw or cooked meats. These tend to cost a lot more, and have a lot of the things they need for growing up. But when trying to find your corgi’s balanced diet for helping him or her grow up, you could ask your veterinarian on the next check up for tips on what foods would be good for your corgi. There are many ways to also tell if it is a balanced diet. Your corgi’s hair may look shinier, or may have more energy then before. Once you find out the diet for your corgi, make sure to stick with it, and change it when your corgi starts to get older.

Positive reinforcement is useful for training your corgi tricks or just basic commands. But the reason why positive reinforcement is useful for training, is because it makes your corgi feel safe and makes your corgi feel like he or she has done a good job on that command or trick. Positive words could just be good job, or good dog, in a clam, settle voice. Saying positive words to teach your corgi that he or she has done a good job is a lot better then if you said bad dog, or something that is a negative reinforcement. Negative reinforcements can take away from your corgi’s knowledge on what to do when you say those words for the command, and may take longer to correct then the short time it may take to destroy the knowledge your corgi has on that command. There are also other ways on how to give positive reinforcement without saying any words. That way may cost just a bit of money, but it uses doggy treats which can be bought at most places near you. You just give your corgi a command for a trick and then once they preform the trick you give your corgi the doggy treat for preforming the command correctly. After a while, you can stop giving your corgi the treat until your corgi has learned to do the command on the word without a treat. Positive reinforcement is a large part of training your corgi. Without it, it could take years and still not be perfected. There are also other ways on positive reinforcement that works, but may not be as effective as a doggy treat or positive words. That way is petting or giving your corgi a belly rub. So remember, positive reinforcement is the key to training your corgi.

There are three types of aggression that your corgi could have, dominance, possessive,or territorial. Two of the aggressions ( territorial and possessive ) may cause your corgi to attack to keep their area safe, or to keep the item they have which could lead to death for your corgi. If your corgi attacks, you must train your corgi to behave in, public before it ever goes out to see people or else. But first off, dominance. Dominance can be just try to stay top dog by different ways. Most of the attempts work on people by your corgi doing something cute for you to give in, or even just from playing with your corgi. Your corgi may try and gain dominance by your corgi eating first, your corgi gets on top of you, you move out of the way when your corgi blocks you off, or your corgi wins any game that uses strength. Dominance aggression seems to be one of the hardest to be trained to stop because of instinct. Possessive aggression can be very dangerous to stop. So for one thing, try not to get bitten by getting near what your corgi is guarding. Your corgi’s aggression for possession of something may stop when your corgi gets older, but in other cases, you can always try and get information on how to stop your corgi’s possessive aggression. Possessive aggression may also be to protect you, which tends to stop when your corgi is older, and starts when your corgi is young and wants all the attention. Now for territorial, it might be worse to you if it isn’t your corgi. For territorial, it could be to protect your land or house, which could not effect you as other people get growled at, or warned to back away. You can wait for this to stop when your corgi is older, or try and train your corgi to stop. Aggressions can be commonly found in most corgis, but most can be trained to be stopped.
