A crate is a very useful tool for many problems and also useful in different times. If you have your crate outside, (or have one inside and one outside) you may want to have your corgi in a crate outside if you are going to be gone for more than two hours. For the inside crate, you can use that one for training and also for leaving your corgi for short periods of times. For the outside one, make sure your crate outside is big enough for your corgi to go to the bathroom, sleep, and also run around or play in. If you are leaving for more than two hours, make sure to have food and water that will last the time your gone. If you are going to be gone for more than one day, it’s recommended that you leave your corgi at your vet for the time your gone, or you may have someone in your family watch your corgis for the time you are gone.

If you are training your corgi for the first time, try and only leave your corgi in the crate for ten minutes, thirty minutes max. Ever time you put your corgi in the crate, you should increase the time bit by bit to help train your corgi. A tip for training a corgi that is a year or younger is that you should always exercise your corgi before putting he or she into the crate for a while. Even if they whine, jump around, and become a big annoyance, always ignore them when they are in the crate being trained, almost no matter what they do. No matter how big of a pain your corgi can be while you crate train them, it will pay off later.
