Do You Know Someone Who Can Adopt This Cute Corgi Mix?

corgi collie mix sadie

Imagine this cute little dog sitting next to you as pet her.

A tri-colored colored corgi mix, Sadie looks a lot like miniature smooth collie. As someone who owns a corgi mix, let me assure you that they’re adorable dogs like their purebred cousins.

A well-behaved and loving dog, Sadie has a sweet disposition that makes her easy to get along with.

Sadie is crate trained, housebroken, leash trained, current on her shots, heartworm negative and spayed.

If you’re looking for a great addition to your family, and are willing to provide her with the loving home that she deserves, contact the North Texas Welsh Corgis Rescue. You can e-mail them at rescue1@northtxwelshcorgis.org

Music for Your Corgi?

A popular recording, A Very Silent Night, is a song played at a frequency only a dog can hear? Is this a good idea for your corgi? Frankly, I’m not taking the risk. Some dogs have reacted negatively when hearing the song.

If you want music for your corgi to listen to, I recommend that you find something that you can hear too. That way you’ll have a good idea beforehand whether any of the high notes are likely to hurt your dog’s ears. Although it might seem cute to the novice dog owner, your corgi howling because music hurts his ears is cruel.

Amazon has a selection of music for dogs. You can find them through this link – or you can click the box below. Ideally, you’ll want music and sounds that are soothing, have a calming effect, and get your Corgi to wag his stub or tail with happiness.

Adopt Ramboe the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Dog

corgi adoption ramboe

Ramboe is a loveable Pembroke Welsh Corgi who gets along great with kids and other dogs. Playful (he loves to play with his stuffed reindeer), he would be a great addition to your family if you’re willing to give him love and attention.

And he’s in great health. Only about 5 years old, Rambo has had all his vaccinations up to date and has no heartworms.

You can check out Ramboe (and other corgis available for adoption) at the North Texas Welsh Corgis Rescue site. To learn how you can adopt Ramboe, simply e-mail rescue1@northtxwelshcorgis.org right now.

Westminster Kennel Club Snubs Corgis Again

welsh corgis pembroke cardiganThe snobs at Westminster Kennel Club have once again dissed Cardigan and Pembroke corgis. Let’s be clear – there is an inherent bias at the club for fluffy weird looking breeds that Manhattan elites can use to attract attention to themselves. That’s less a family member and more a status symbol, i.e. a lousy way to treat any dog regardless of breed.

Neither corgi breed placed in the Best of Group (Herding). If you want to see photos from the Best of Breed judging, simply click this link, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click the “photos” link by each of the winners.

As for the club, it gets a thumbs down for not giving corgis a fair shake in the competition.

Of course, our corgis don’t need ribbons. They’ve already won our hearts.

02-13-08 Update – A beagle won Best in Show. Doesn’t make up for stiffing the corgis but at least a ‘normal’ dog won top honors. Kudos to the club for doing the right thing.
